Day 5 – This had to be the dram for the day. I’ve not been too particularly fond of the recent young or No age statement releases from Ardbeg, but had to try this one. This one is, well, different. Do I particularly like it? No. Would I sip it every now and then? Yes.
Being just 5 years old, you can feel the young spirit tingle on your tongue like biting on freshly cracked black pepper. However, being matured in ex-bourbon and Oloroso casks, the finish has a simple salty balance.
