During the shelter-in-place due to COVID-19, there have been a lot of innovative approaches on keeping local bars & restaurants active with income. One of such place is my favorite whisky bar in San Francisco, Elixir Saloon. Located in the Mission district, Elixir is the second oldest bar in San Francisco. Elixir has chosen to sell off some excess inventory of its Whisky & Spirits & deliver it to the comfort of your home.
In addition to selling bottles of various whisk(e)y & spirits, Elixir has also been selling cocktail kits. These kits contain all the ingredients you need to make a delicious cocktail from the comfort of your home.
Earlier this week, I picked up a cocktail kit name “Southside”. Southside is categorized as an easy cocktail. The kit contains:
The recipe for this delicious cocktail is pretty simple:
- 1.75oz of Fresh Victor Mix
- 1.5oz Four Pillars Gin
- 1.5oz Fever Tree Club soda
Shake up with ice and pour into a glass. Topped with some fresh mint from the garden.
With the weather getting warmer, this kit makes for a fresh, sparkly, and minty cocktail to get through the warm weekends.
Bonus trick, if you have left over Fresh Victor Three Citrus & Mint mix, you can use it to make a delicious Margarita for the upcoming Cinco de Mayo!
